Great is the Lord and He is worthy to be praised! I would like to take a moment and praise God for His Grace and Mercy. For I realize in the hands of the Father, sinners become saints, failures become victories, and the common is made holy. As a gifted potter fashions shapeless clay into a work of art, God can sculpt us into more that we ever imagined when we yield our lives to His gentle touch.
On behalf of the entire Ebenezer Baptist Church family I would like to humbly thank the many church congregations for their participation this week as we celebrated Ebenezer Baptist Church’s 129th and Pastor Ritter’s 19th anniversaries.
The theme for this year was “A Church That Walk By Faith, Not By Sight.” And like Abel, we brought forth the best of our self’s as an offering to the Lord; like E’noch, the preachers brought forth the Word and we harkened to it; like Noah, we have heard God’s command and now must busy ourselves with it; like Abraham, we are setting ourselves apart in order to hear His command from further; and Sara, we know the Lord can bring forth the unseen. Ebenezer is striving to obtain “a good report” from He who gives the ultimate command.
The heart of our theme lies in 2 Corinthians 5:7, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” This past year has required that entire Ebenezer Baptist Church family recommit themselves to Christ and the plan He has for our church. As the undershepherd of this congregation I too have recommitted and God has reaffirmed His plan to me. This plan requires me, and Ebenezer, to have faith in one another.
I thank you for your love and support and in advance for your prayers. This week has been a wonderful example is God’s power and love. Let this week be the beginning of another great year in Christ for us individually and for the Ebenezer collective.
Because of Calvary,
Leonard Ritter, Sr., Pastor
